Announcing a jewelry making workshop in Mumbai on 27 December, 2009
Details: Art Clay and Wire wrapped Beads in a handmade necklace
Participants will learn how to make silver clay beads, some other components like silver clay discs and a clasp, and making wrapped loop links with sterling silver wire, incorporating semi-precious beads. These will be put together to create a unique necklace. (Later, the design could be adapted to create a bracelet and earrings too).
The class will include a material kit having a generous amount of goodies, including approx. 30 gms of Art Clay Silver(more clay will be available for purchase),some semi-precious beads, crystals, enough sterling silver wire to make the links and some more, and some practice wire too:)!
Tools will be available for use in class. One may also purchase tools for personal use, provided they have been requested for in advance.
The intensive 6 hr workshop will cost Rs.8,000/- per head. The number of seats is limited to 10(max).
Last date for registeration is 17th December,2009.
Two different workshops are being conducted on 14 and 15 March,2009 ,introducing making jewelry with Art Clay Silver at Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery, Bajaj Bhawan, 226 Nariman Point, Mumbai.
The Mumbai workshops were very effective and successful.Time flew by,sharing knowledge about the medium and the craft,with the participants exploring the magic of creating their own unique jewelry using Art Clay Silver.

The participants will create their own fine silver bracelet using silver rings, along with a clasp (to close the bracelet) made of Art Clay Silver.
The material and all required information will be provided to the students and tools will be provided for use in the class.
This will be a 4 and a half hour workshop. The cost of this workshop will be Rs.4000/- per person.

This class is for anybody who would love to create their own personalized pieces of jewelry. No previous knowledge of making jewelry or working with metal clay required.

Introduction to Art Clay Silver
This intensive 6 hour class introduces students to working with Art Clay Silver in three forms: Clay, Paste and Syringe. In this workshop students begin to master Art Clay Silver as they learn how to set up work space, texturise, cut mould and extrude clay, re-hydrate dry material, and safely fire creations made at home. After using various techniques to finish the pieces, the students then learn to fire the pieces in a kiln. In the process, they learn about working with metal clay in various stages, and kiln firing. The class covers various finishing methods including wire brushing, buffing, burnishing, and patina.
Class materials: Includes one package of Silver Clay, one jar of Silver Clay Paste, and a Silver Clay Syringe, and useful handouts. Tools will be provided for use in the class.

This class is for anybody who would love to create their own personalised pieces of jewelry. No previous knowledge of making jewelry or working with metal clay required. It does open new horizons of creative expression and a new world of learning and evolving all along.
